A STROLL THROUGH DOWNTOWN LA

I had a great day off today and kept myself busy all day. Woke up around 9 am, hit the gym for an hour, and got ready to adventure downtown LA!

FOOD

Our first stop was food because we were starving! Since we planned to check out the Santee Alley, we chose somewhere in that area. We found this place called Cilantro Lime and we loved it. I ordered the Chicken Tostada Bowl, and it was the perfect size for someone that can’t eat too much. We both shared their famous Strawberry Horchata and we were amazed! I personally am not a fan of horchata because of the sweetness, but this horchata was perfect – basically tasted like strawberry milk with a hint of cinnamon!

#OOTD

LA was supposed to rain today, so I wanted to wear this yellow raincoat I bought a few months ago but didn’t have an opportunity to wear yet.. So I planned my outfit starting with the coat!

My closet has always been dull with black, white, and gray. Which isn’t a bad thing at all but I felt like I needed to start adding some colors to my wardrobe to brighten up my life. Which is why I bought this yellow coat from ASOS (definitely an online site you should check out if you didn’t already). The brand is Bershka. For my shoes, I chose my favorite rain boots I have which is from Vivienne Westwood. Its all black so it literally matches everything and its platform style so it adds some spice to any outfit I wear them with. Also gives me some height which is perfect for a 5″2 girl!

If your wearing a bright colored outerwear, the inner wear should be subtle but have a few colors that match with the jacket. Which is why I chose a graphic tee! This one is from Vivienne Westwood, it is from her World’s End Collection. If you look closely the bird is a penis, which I honestly love because it is SO Vivienne! She is one my favorite designers and her creativity is off the charts. This tee worked out perfectly with the jacket because of the colors. The graphic is a sun so it also fit the energy I was trying to give off because of the gloomy day in LA.

To keep my outfit balanced from the bright colors, I chose black pants and a black bag. The pants are from Opening Ceremony and the bag is from Vivienne Westwood. The pants fit wide leg so it went with the flow of the jacket and the tight tee. Vivienne’s logo – the Orb on my bag matched with the yellow coat so using it with this outfit was a must!

I accessorized myself with a pair of my Dior earrings, a silver aries necklace I bought in Japan, and a few Vivienne Westwood rings.

SANTEE ALLEY

It was my first time going to Santee Alley, and there were so many stores with random products I didn’t know where to start! Beauty stores, phone cases, shoes, clothing, accessories.. too many to list! Whats so great is that the pricing is crazy cheap. I bought 2 hoop earrings for $1 each! If I went to Urban Outfitters for earrings it would cost me at least $16 each.. so it was definitely worth it since i’ve been in saving mode lately!

LITTLE TOKYO

We ended the day stopping at Little Tokyo to hit Nijiya, a Japanese supermarket. Walked around after and checked out the area. You’ll feel like you’re in a small town in Japan with so many Japanese restaurants and decorations. What do you usually do on your day off? Have you been to DTLA and what else is there to do there? Comment below 🙂
