Hi Everyone!
It’s finally here.. I’m so excited to share with you guys my morning skin care routine. If you are new to my blog – let me explain the history of my skin and how much it had gotten better throughout the years.
Since sophomore year of high school I dealt with cystic acne all over my cheeks. It got really bad and no products would help calm my skin down. I was really insecure, depressed, and just a mess in general. Of course a lot of it was from puberty – but I was also dealing with a lot of stress, anxiety, and depression throughout my high school years that definitely caused the break outs as well. I went through many different cleansers, toners, moisturizers, dermatologist appointments of them prescribing me different topicals, but nothing seemed to work. My face was puffy, red, and more scars developed overtime. The last thing my dermatologist prescribed was an antibiotic that would kill the germs internally. It was very strong and made me sick most of the time but I finally started to see a positive change of my skin.
My skin gradually gotten better after a while, but the scars still remained and I still broke out every now and then. I got a laser treatment on my skin last year which helped reduce the scarring – you can read more about it here.
Fast forward to today – my skin has never been this good, ever. The laser treatment definitely helped my skin better than I thought it would, and I also discovered Glossier. I can’t stress this enough… Glossier is a huge reason to why my skin is at it’s best right now. And no, I am not sponsored by them (although being their rep is my ultimate dream) so I am not lying; Glossier is what I wish I had 4-5 years ago when my skin was at its worst. Now let me show you guys my skin care routine that consists 50% of Glossier products.

The products I use for my morning routine:
- Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser
- Glossier Solution
- Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer
- Neutrogena Clear Face SPF 55 Sunscreen
STEP 1: Cleanse

I use 2-3 pumps of the Milky Jelly Cleanser, then gently rub it around my face after lathering it with my hands. I usually don’t wet my face and just massage the cleanser into my skin softly.

After gently rinsing off, I pat dry my face with a fresh towel. I usually change my face towel every 3-4 days.
STEP 2: Tone

After cleansing and drying my face, I grab a cotton ball and pump it 2-3 times in the Solution. I love the way Glossier designed this bottle because the pump actually doesn’t use too much of the solution and is the perfect amount for sensitive skin. If you have very sensitive skin – I say start off with 1-2 pumps. I have sensitive skin as well but I love how clean it makes my skin feel!

After soaking your cotton ball with the Solution, gently slide it all over your face. Get the corners of your nose, your baby hair line, and jawlines.

You will see how much dirt comes off on the cotton ball! It’s pretty gross but cool to see that the toner actually works.
STEP 3: Moisture

This is my favorite step. After I feel that the toner dried onto my skin, I lather 2 full pumps of my moisturizer and rub it gently on my skin. It feels so good when your face feels soft and plump.

But lately this moisturizer isn’t giving me the satisfaction I expect. (my skin has been feeling a lot more dry than usual these past few months) So i’m thinking about trying out the Priming Moisturizer by Glossier. But I had some bad luck changing up moisturizers.. so we will see. If I feel like i’m ready i’ll give it a go.
If I don’t feel like my moisturizer isn’t doing my skin justice, I usually spray the Evian Mineral Facial Spray onto my skin. 3-4 sprays and my skin feels so fresh! I also use this before I do my makeup, and after as my setting spray.

I used to use this when I lived in Japan and I stopped after I moved back to Hawai’i. When I went back to visit last month, I saw it again and decided to give it another try. I am obsessed with it and will definitely keep on buying!
STEP 4: Sunscreen

Applying sunscreen is such an important step that I wish I realized when I used to live in Hawai’i. I thought not applying sunscreen and going to the beach made me so “cool”, but NO! It was the complete opposite. Because of my childish mentality, I now have some sun spots on my face. Since I want to prevent that and not permanently have scars – applying sunscreen is something that makes me a “cool kid” now.

I squeeze a small amount onto my finger, dot it around my face, then gently rub. I like this sunscreen because it doesn’t feel so heavy on my skin. Yes, it has a pretty strong scent of sunscreen but that doesn’t bug me so much. After that, I spray more of the Evian Facial mist onto my face.
Done!
Then i’m good to go on with my day. Just 4 simple steps and my skin care routine for the morning is done! I hope you guys decide to try out some the products I use, especially the Glossier products. Like I said, I’m not sponsored, I just LOVE them! I would never lie to you, especially if it will affect your skin. You guys should definitely check them out. If you already have – tell me how your skin reacts to it in the comments below!
Thank you for reading guys, I hope you enjoyed! Stay tuned for my night routine next.
Keep on bloomin’!
