Hi Everyone!
My dog Goma, turned one years old last Saturday and I wanted to make it a very special day for him.
I haven’t really spoken about why or how important it was for me when Goma came into my life. I took him home with me last year in May and it was probably the best decision I have ever made and also the first time I was so certain of something. He is my emotional support dog – he makes me so happy and loved. So, him turning one years old was a memorable event and I wanted him to feel special too.
My friends came over to celebrate and helped me bake a cake for him. We found a really simple recipe by lovefromtheoven, you can find the recipe we used here.
The only difference we made from the recipe is that we added honey to add an extra kick of flavor into the frosting. Other than that – the recipe was so simple and full of Goma’s favorites.
We topped off the cake with strawberries (Goma’s absolute weakness) and the cake was perfect! Goma’s friend, Yohji enjoyed the cake with him too.
We went to the dollar store and bought most of the party fun – paw printed balloons, crowns, and happy birthday stickers. The party was affordable and we all had fun. Especially Goma – he was feeling love all day and night!
The first birthday was a success – I would love to keep a tradition of making every year special for Goma. Do you guys pets that you love so dearly? I definitely recommend throwing a party for them! It’s fun for the owners, and gives you a reason to take a day off of work and spend time with your loved furry friend.
