Hey guys!
In LA theres lots of fun hide-n-seek places which makes it really exciting and unique. I’ve been to a bar called Adults Only. When you enter it’s just a porn store – it has lots of naked ladies pictures on the wall and actual videos and porn on a TV! You walk through the curtain and it’s an old fashioned bar that’s super fun to hang out with friends on the weekends. There is also another bar in Hollywood called No Vacancy. You get taken to a small room with a lady in lingerie laying on a bed. She explains 3 rules to you and then she cranks a knob and the bed rises to open up a stair case down to the bar!
Well today I wanted to talk about a hidden restaurant I’ve discovered called Laurel Hardware. The entrance looks like a regular hardware store – it doesn’t give any ‘restaurant’ vibes at all! It’s covered with curtains so you can’t see the inside at all. It honestly looks like it’s just a hardware store thats been shut down.

We got seated in the outdoor area – amazingly beautiful. In fact, the whole restaurant looked great and it was so unexpected coming from how the front looked.

I started off the night with a glass of their Frozé – it was small but came with a flower so the presentation was definitely a 10/10! My second drink was a Juan Pablo – tasted like horchata with some alcohol. Cheers to that!

The appetizer was probably my favorite part. We ordered truffle fries and calamari. If you didn’t know, I’m a HUGE fan of truffle. I will love to have truffle everyday if I could! I love my squid too. I was honestly so happy that their style of calamari wasn’t fried because I wasn’t really down to have extremely fried food (since I ordered french fries as well). With the fried eggplant it was very fresh and great for a starter (with my drink as well). 🥂

I shared my main dish with my friend. We ordered the duck fried rice and some pork chops. The duck fried rice was honestly the best thing ever. The egg on top reminded me of the way people in Hawaii make fried rice so I was happy to have food that tastes similar from home. The pork chops was a 6/10 for me – it was a little too salty (ironic because I absolutely adore salty food) and the sauce was more on the sweeter side so it just tasted a little funky to me. The salad was too spicy for my mouth but other than that it wasn’t bad.
They didn’t have tiramisu so no dessert for me! I give this restaurant a 10/10 for the great service and uniqueness. Hope y’all can try it sometime!
Thank you for reading! Till next time, bloomers. Xx
