LA is getting HOT! And I mean really hot. The heat wave just hit and it feels like hell. It was 110 degrees yesterday and didn’t go below 90 degrees until midnight. INSANE. It felt even hotter than a summer in Las Vegas! Today was a lot better than yesterday (still terrible though) and it was 100 degrees and less dry, hot wind.
I just received my package from Ulta Beauty and stocked up on summer beauty products! Usually i’m really skeptical ordering makeup from online because I don’t know if it’ll make me breakout or if i’ll even like it – but I’m really happy with what I bought so far! (Some products I listed are not from Ulta beauty)
1. Neutrogena Clear Face 55 SPF Sunscreen –
Sunscreen is so important. I REPEAT: Sunscreen is SO important! I wish I knew this when I was still living in Hawaii, because I do have sun spots on my face and I think my scars aren’t going away as fast is because of terrible sun exposure! Your face can get very sensitive facing the summer sun, so make sure you are constantly applying sunscreen to prevent sun spots and long term wrinkles.
2. Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Spray –
if you need a refresher throughout the day and feel as if your makeup is drying your skin out – this product is a must need. I usually start to feel super irritated with my skin whenever I have a full face of make up on and this helps to moisturize and set my makeup back to how I want it to be. It’s good as a makeup spray, a body spray, a hair spray.. any kind of spray really. Even if you aren’t wearing makeup and just want to boost up your skin, this one is perfect.
3. Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer –
I was looking for a new bronzer since i’m running out of my current one, and this one was actually the best seller on Ulta. I was convinced by the reviews that it’ll be good, and i’m so glad I got it! It smells like sun tan lotion so I feel like i’m back on the beach in Hawaii. I got the regular color tone called “bronzer” and it works perfectly for my skin. Until I get my summer tan going on, this will be my daily thing.
4. Glossier Birthday Bomb Dotcom –
With this dry heat, you need a good lip balm that smells good and makes your lips look great. The “birthday” one smells like a birthday cake, and has shimmer in it to make your lips look great with no gloss or lipstick. I usually re-apply twice and it’ll last me all day!
To add a bit of color and shimmer to your cheeks whenever your face hits the sunlight – this one is the best. You want to keep your face looking bright and happy-looking, so blush is definitely something to have on daily.
6. Glossier Lip Gloss –
This one is my absolute favorite. Growing up, I hated lip gloss or any lip product in general because it always felt uncomfortable. But now I know how important it is. It adds a whole new look to your face, and this lip gloss makes your lips look bigger and more plump! Which seems to be the new-look at the moment. The only thing is it seems to run out pretty quickly, so I definitely recommend to stock up on it this summer.
So that was my summer essentials for this summer! I really hope this heat wave goes away soon, because my AC bill is probably going crazy right now. Also, probably need to find some hair products to calm the frizziness.
