Hey guys!
Over the past few years, Asian fashion has been blowing up all over the world. Japan, Korea, and China all have their own unique style which I personally adore and use as my inspiration for my own style as well.
The other day I went to a fashion event for a Korean brand called 99%IS (99 Percentis). Bajowoo, the owner/designer of the brand, is an absolute genius. He moved to Japan ten years ago to start his career in fashion. 6 years ago, he started 99 Percentis which has been drawing everyone’s attention over the past year because of his famous biker jackets. Pharrell actually has a few custom leather jackets Bajowoo made just for him.

Bajowoo has been obsessed with punk fashion since he was in sixth grade. He would draw on white pants with red crayon, add zippers to weird spots – all handmade. Till this day, Bajowoo insists on hand making all the product by himself – carefully jabbing safety pins through leather, stitching and spray painting pieces late into the night. He is a designer that strictly only does what he loves and purposely avoids the trends that most designers end up doing. He always has smeared eye liner around his eyes, different colored hair, and his famous mask that is cut to show his teeth which he has green/black grills on. He has a very unique look only he can pull off and its honestly amazing.

This event was held at H. Lorenzo mens wear location in Los Angeles. It was a pop up event just for 99 Percentis from 6-9pm. It showcased many of his archived leather vests, biker jackets, etc. I saw many people buying his ready-to-wear products during the event as well.

During the event, he also performed live art on T shirts which was sold after the event. White tee’s were taped in a cardboard wall and he spray painted them all creating a design on the spot. It really show cased how talented he his and made it exciting for the fans.

It was super awesome to see how many people showed up because I honestly did not know he had a such large fan base in LA. The crowd was very diverse and it was nice to see everyone appreciating his brand and art. Bajowoo was walking around the entire event being asked to take pictures but he seemed a little nervous around big crowds. Overall, he was very friendly to everyone but mostly stayed with his own crowd.
I hope you got hooked on to him like I did when I first discovered his brand because if not you are missing out on someone who is going to be huge in the next few years! I’m excited to start discovering other Asian brands and finding out a whole new different style for myself.
Thank you for reading y’all!
Keep on bloomin’ ♡xxx
