SUN’S OUT BUN’S OUT

Hey guys!

LA has been so cold lately even though its spring. But today the sun finally came out from hibernation and I couldn’t be happier!

Since my friend and I were both off of work today we planned a day in Santa Monica, California. It’s the closest beach to where we live and theres a variety of food and fun things to do in that area.

FOOD

We looked through yelp to see what was around Ocean Park area. I was kind of craving Mexican food, but we found a place called Cha Cha Chicken which focuses on Caribbean food. The reviews were great so we thought we would give it a try and it was way better than we expected! The outside of the restaurant is super cute and has island vibes. They play Caribbean music and sets the mood to what you’re about to eat.

I ordered the famous “Coconut Fried Chicken” plate and it blew me away! The coconut wasn’t too strong and they gave me 6 big pieces of chicken with 2 sides – I chose dirty rice (beans and purple grain rice) and french fries. 😋

#OOTD

Aside from my bikini, my theme was spring/summer today. For me, spring/summer = bright colors! I wore my colorful Miu Miu shirt my friend gave to me for my birthday. It’s stretchy and made out of thin fabric so it kept me cool from the heat.

I wore my extra high waisted ripped light wash jeans to match the summer vibe, and since it has a lot of holes, it kept me from feeling hot as well! These Pull & Bear jeans are my absolute fave. I actually ripped the back of the pants under my butt to make it look more distressed.

I wore my vintage suede Prada bag my mom gave me! I love this bag because its very simple and small but actually it fits a lot of things. I carried my wallet, keys, phone case, film camera, Mario Badescu facial spray, and my phone. Thats a lot for a small bag huh? I use this bag whenever I go to the grocery store, the gym, a stroll outside.. its one of my everyday bags now that i’m listing it down, haha.

After we finished tanning and relaxing on the beach, we decided we wanted to get dessert. You always need to end a nice beach date with some ice cream, am I right? We found this place on 3rd street called Merci Clément – which focuses on gelato and popsicles! We got one scoop of matcha green tea gelato ice cream on a waffle cone. It was so satisfying after being in the sun all day.

So that was my successful beach day in Santa Monica today! I’m so glad the sun is finally coming out and I can get my tan back on. The beaches are definitely different than the ones I grew up around, but at least I live in a place surrounded by a beach so I gotta appreciate the little things.

What do you guys like to do on a 90 degree weather day?
